Dr. Mark Kamimura-Jiménez is a student-centered strategic leader focused on developing a positive experience for all students at WashU. He oversees the Taylor Family Center for Student Success, Office of Financial Well-being, Dialogue Across Difference, the Center for Diversity and Inclusion which is home to the Office for Religious, Spiritual and Ethical Life, Office for International Student Engagement, Spectrum and the Office of Cross-Cultural Connections. Dr. Kamimura-Jiménez most recently served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at Texas Christian University, where he led the practice and research on student affairs initiatives for strengthening the connection culture of undergraduate and graduate students as an integrated part of their university experience.
During his time at the University of Michigan he served as the Assistant Dean and Director of Graduate Student Success in the Rackham Graduate School supporting the comprehensive experience from recruitment to career. Dr. Kamimura-Jiménez has held leadership positions Cal State Fullerton, UCLA, UCI and Columbia University and been awarded over $22M in federal and private partnership grants to strengthen the P-20 educational pipeline.
Dr. Kamimura-Jiménez has held academic appointments in the John V. Roach Honors College at Texas Christian University, in the Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University, and in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Louisville. Dr. Kamimura-Jiménez is a contributor to multiple books on the topics of mentorship, leadership, and access to higher education. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine; M.A. from Columbia University; and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
