Offices and departments to address specific complaints
Students who have academic-related complaints should consult the policies and processes established by the relevant School as set forth in the Bulletin or, if applicable, their degree program handbook. Students are encouraged to contact the relevant School officials identified in those policies.
Students who wish to file a complaint against another student alleging a violation of the University Student Conduct Code should contact the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards. Once a student complaint is filed, if a determination is made that a student will be charged with a violation of the Code, OSCCS will facilitate the investigation and hearing process as set forth in the Code.
The University’s Discrimination and Harassment Policy applies to all faculty, staff and students. Formal and informal processes to address student complaints of discrimination and/or harassment are provided in the Discrimination and Harassment Policy. If students have questions or concerns about discrimination or harassment, they are encouraged to contact the Discrimination and Harassment Respondent Coordinators from the Office of Institutional Equity identified in the policy. They may also submit a complaint to the WashU Reporting Hotline.
The Gender Equity and Title IX Compliance Office is responsible for overseeing investigations and hearings related to student complaints of sex discrimination or sexual harassment. Processes vary depending upon the status of the person accused of sex discrimination or sexual harassment (student, faculty, or staff) and are available on the GETIXCO website. Students wishing to file a complaint should contact GETIXCO with any questions or concerns related to a complaint of sex discrimination or sexual harassment.
