Kristy Guffey is the associate vice chancellor and chief of staff to Anna Gonzalez, vice chancellor for student affairs.
In her role, she works closely with the senior leadership team in Student Affairs to provide strategic oversight and tactical support to the division including supervision of the research and assessment, and marketing and communications teams. Guffey also spearheads key priorities including advancement and professional and community development efforts, facilities, strategic planning, and crisis management.
Guffey has significant previous experience in higher education. She joined the university in 2014, most recently serving as executive director of university advancement for Student Affairs where she was instrumental in closing multi-million dollar gifts for important initiatives such as the Taylor Family Center for Student Success and the mental health doctoral training program.
