This session will showcase how one office within Student Affairs has created an environment to improve mental health to manage stress in many different ways while cultivating our well-being, empowering personal and professional growth, and reconnecting with our purpose.

Are you in need of some guidance of how to handle your stress while at work? Do you need a short break from your day-to-day to recharge? This session may be just what you need! While practicing breathing and mindfulness techniques, we will review the role of the WashU Wellness Champion and the competencies they aim to promote. The presenters will also showcase how they transformed a corner of their office to a serene environment, fit for their needs, to escape the stressors of their work. Participants will learn the importance of recognizing their colleagues’ and their own need to take some time to recenter in order to increase enjoyment in their work and work productivity. Additionally, participants will leave with key takeaways of avenues to assist in managing anxiety and strain in the workplace.

The presenters will plan to provide several deliverables to the participants including ideas of how to practice mindfulness. Additionally, if participants are interested in receiving other deliverables showcased in the presentation, they will provide these to the attendees following PDD.
